happy thanksgiving

boy was thanksgiving ever happy, it was great to only have two days of school that week. A lot has happened in the past few weeks, we bought a car, a 1995 gold Toyota Camary. I took the GRE and rocked the 1000 point cutoff at BYU. BYU beat the U at football 17-10, and this year makes two.

For thanksgiving, Courtney and I, and Michel and Erin Anderson all went up to Lehi UT. and spent the day with the Haines family, and we a quite grateful for their hospitality.

School is coming to a close, and many of my large assignments are already completed, so there are only a few more things to do before finals kick in. Finding parking close to BYU is a joke, everything fills up at about 8:00 am sharp and there are no more spots available for the rest of your life, so you have to walk from 40 miles away, or just park at the marriot center.

The new car is good, it has mostly all working parts, but it lacks tunes, so we may get that looked at. the rest of it seems to be on good order, and it passed Carfax with flying colors.

It has finally gotten cold here in Provo, and outside our door the rain gutter drips and it has created an interesting looking natural ice sculpture on the grass.

in a distant past I had some pictures from halloween, and a few other things.

Beware the blurry Strong Bad Pumpkin.

Scooby doo and a Tiger playing gameboy on BYU campus, on halloween.
And begining a new tradition, funny things on BYU campus. This picture in in the library, and it shows the collective intelligence of the geography department. Clearly the library is located in South Central Africa.

a brief update

Some more pictures, if anyone wants to see a whole bunch more pictures of us kissing, we'd be happy to oblige, we like looking at them.
Apart from that, things are busy again, school is in full swing and I am almost done with the first round of midterms, one of the hardest ones is coming up on Tuesday, but hopefully all will go well. I'm scheduled to take the GRE in mid-November, and Courtney is helping me to study for that. We will begin our hunt for a car in earnest this week, and hope to get one soon, we already missed our goal to get a car before it snowed in Provo. My bike is currently kaput, on account of problems with a seat, I never thought it would have been so difficult to find a bolt the size that I need, but after searching through two hardware stores and a bike shop, I will need to go to an industrial fastener store to find a metric bolt that is long enough for me to use. Apart from my recent bike troubles, things are going well, I must say that I love being married, and I love my wife.

Somebody got married

Two somebodies, Courtney and Me.

life was once dreary and gray, but now life is in color (pink and sage green)

We don't have very many of our official wedding pictures yet, but hopefully soon they will come. These are pictures that were taken by family members.

We got married August 25th in the Colombia River Washington Temple. After a short honeymoon in Boston we came back out to Provo so I can finish school. Courtney graduated in April and is working.

To all my loyal blog readers (that includes you Renny): You are invited to our mini reception/open house tonight (sept 15) from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at 975 E 50 S #4 (casual dress is accepted)

I would have posted sooner, but the internet at our apartment is flaky, it was out all last weekend, and school has been keeping me busy already

As for school, I'm taking 5 classes for 15 credits. I have Moral Development, Theories in Family Development, Advanced Issues in Human Development, Adult Development and Aging, and World Civilizations since 1500 (GE)

we are running a mile a minute and still have a lot of things to do but we are very happy.

6 months, a record

Boy has life been busy, sorry I haven’t posted for a while. Just a few quick updates. Winter semester was hectic, I took 3 MFHD classes, an English class and a math class, and it was a lot of work, I was the Ward clerk for my ward, meaning that Sundays were very busy. I started dating someone who lives across town and decided to move over closer to her.

School let out and life has been a little less crazy, but not much. I’m taking one last math class and a bowling class, they seem pretty fun, but the math class is a lot of work, things move really fast. I hope it all goes well. I’m still working my early morning custodial job, and that keeps me tired as ever, but perhaps soon, I can find a better job. I just found out that I can go to California with some friends to see an old roommate get married, that should be great

That’s all I have to say for now, but there are some pictures, talk at ya later.

Happy New Year!

I hope that all my loyal readers had a great Christmas and new years, I know that I did. I got to go home for two fabulous weeks, I got to wake up later than 4:00 am every weekday, and got to spend time with my family and not do homework, what more could a person ask for.

Then that blissful time ended (as it always does) and I had to come back to frigid Provo. (It was 60 degrees in Portsmouth the day I flew out) Cheryl Medley and I flew out here together, unintentionally I might add, but nevertheless pleasantly. We had a five hour layover in Baltimore airport, but this time I didn’t miss my connecting flight out of there, and we arrived in Provo and were picked up by my once and future (now current) roommate Ben.

I did move apartments, from number 11 to number 7, and my phone number changed because of the move, if you need an updated physical address let me know. (Especially if you need to mail me goodies or something) I now room with Ben and Aaron (both of whom I roomed with before) and Sam, and they are all great guys.

I have a pretty demanding schedule this semester, four classes on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, but only one on Tuesday/Thursday. I have many church duties with my new calling as ward clerk, and have many other things to keep me busy. For homework there is mostly a lot of reading to do, the writing will come later I have no doubt. I have childhood socialization, cross-cultural families, and foundations of eternal marriage for major classes. I have multivariable calculus going toward my math minor, and writing in the social sciences as a general education requirement. I plan on attending institute classes through the stake during the week also since I don’t have any religion classes this semester.

I’ve included a few pictures: one of Cheryl and I in Baltimore airport, one of my collection of BYU T-shirts (sizing may be an issue), and finally one of some of my gifts I received, and I think I’m required by law to note that the Groundskeeper Willie bobble-head is the greatest gift ever!!
