Our Cute Megan

I just wanted to put on some random pictures of our cute, growing girl.  Megan has definitely just fit right into our family and we love having her.

We waited for the umbilical cord to come off before giving Megan her first bath at home.  We did it right before church so she wouldn't smell like spit up.  Megan absolutely hated the bath and screamed the whole time.  Whitney wanted to know why she kept crying.

Rachel is very good at giving Megan her binky - whether or not she really wants it.  She will come up to me afterwards and tell me that she gave the baby her binky and she is all proud of herself.

I was given this cute elephant outfit from someone in our ward after Megan was born.  It is hard to tell but even the hat is an elephant.  Whitney informed me that Megan should be an elephant for halloween.

We decided to take the kids to the park one day after Will got home from work.  Megan had her very first swing ride ever.  She was only semi-awake, so I don't know if it really counts.

Megan has her first time on the boppi pillow.  Will's mom made the pillow cover for us.  Poor Megan only got to be on the pillow for a few minutes before Whitney claimed it for herself and decided she was the baby.  I am hoping that doesn't become normal behavior.

This little sleeper is really cute.  It says "Mommy's Little Angel" on the front and it has angel wings on the back.  It has been getting chillier in Umatilla, so I have been making Megan stay in warmer clothes and hats to help her stay warm.  She doesn't have enough body fat to do that for herself yet.

So we are enjoying our little girl.  She is almost a month old; I am excited to see how big she has gotten at her next doctor's appointment.

Racing Cars

Our ward had a pinewood derby contest for everybody.  I don't think there are any cub scouts, so everybody gets a chance to make a car and race it.  Here are just a couple of pictures.

It is kind of hard to see, but Will is outside cutting the piece of wood into a car shaped piece of wood.  Unfortunately, we only have a little hand saw, so there wasn't that much he could really do.  The girls were stuck inside because of the storm and because I didn't want them bothering Will when he was trying to work; they just stood by the window and watched him.

Whitney's job was to paint the car.  She chose three colors for the three sides, not too complicated.

Then Rachel got the fun job of putting on stickers.  So our car wasn't too manly because it was covered with flower stickers.  Oh well.

Whitney showing off the finished product.  She was very proud of the car that we all made.  Megan and I just supervised, but that job is equally important.  And I know that Whitney is wearing no pants; that seems to be a common occurrence lately.

And at the pinewood derby.  For being such a small ward, we had a really good turnout.  It was probably the free dinner of navajo tacos that came with the event.  Our car didn't do very well because we didn't put on any weights or do anything special to it.  The girls didn't care, they were just so excited to see all the cars race down the track.  So it was really fun.

Meeting some more people

We went down to Pasco for Labor Day weekend and little Megan was able to meet some more people.  She is a very happy baby and seemed to enjoy the little trip - not that she had much of a choice.

Megan sitting with grandpa.  My dad said the bagel was for future size reference.  I think the bagel was slightly bigger than Megan's head, but it was hard to be sure.

Megan with my sister, Kylee.  It was convenient to have family around to help hold her whenever we were too busy doing something else.

Conner didn't hold Megan, but he liked watching her.

Here we are all ready for church.  Some of us are even looking at the camera.  Everyone in my parents ward was amazed that we brought a baby only a couple of days old, but I have never been too worried about germs.  And Megan didn't get sick, even being passed around to several complete strangers.  So that was good.  She was good at church and mostly just slept.

Whitney had great fun at grandma's house.  In this picture, her and Conner were being 'hunters'.  I love Whitney's purple hat, what good hunting clothes.

Megan went on her first picnic on Labor Day.  We went down to a fun park by the water with my family and a couple of family friends.

Although this picture doesn't show it, Whitney and Rachel loved playing in the water.  They were completely soaked by the end of the day.  I don't think Whitney has any fears because she went really deep into the water and would only turn around when we told her she had to.  Rachel stayed closer to the edge and loved flinging mud into the water.  So they had lots of fun.

It was a good trip and it was nice to have family to help make the adjustment to having three kids.  Now it is back to the real world where Will works and I stay home and make everyone play nice.  It has been fun.
