Valentines Day

Will and I had a great Valentines Day. It was weird to think that it would be our last holiday as a twosome, but we are looking forward to adding Whitney Anne to our lives. We gave each other a 5 dollar limit for gifts, so we both had to get creative. Will was very sweet and he actually made the puzzle so he could put a secret message on it. Inside my jewelry box was a little gold necklace that is really pretty. And he promised that when my belly got too big to paint my toenails, he would do it himself. I was very proud of the good job he did and told him he needed to change his profession to a pedicurist, but he didn't like the idea very much. I got him the chocolate flower because we use to tell each other that it wasn't fair that girls always got the flowers. But five dollars is not enough to buy real flowers. Oh well, you cannot eat real flowers. And I got him a sudoku variety puzzle book that he really likes. We went out to the buffet on Monday as kind of a half Valentines Day, half quitting work celebration. I was very happy because I could get as much steak and big salads as I wanted. All in all, everything is going well in Cheney. I hope everyone else had good times too.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Well, I must really be pregnant because the kids at the daycare are starting to notice. And I sure get some funny comments from some of them, so I thought that I would share a few.

- (from a 2-year-old) After looking me up and down a couple of times said "You have big tummy"

- (from a 4-year-old) She stared at me and asked with a serious expression "Is there a ball under your shirt?"

- And my personal favorite came from two 7-year-olds. The first boy asked "Are you pregnant?" And the second boy looked at him and said "You don't ask that question to a woman".

I had to hide my face some of the time to keep from laughing out loud. I have also been given several name suggestions from the children who think I should name her Sidney, Sara, or Jeremy. They weren't happy when I told them that Will and I had already picked a name we liked. Of course, like father, like son. I have also gotten some very bold statements from the parents at the daycare. One lady just a week ago looked at me and asked "When did you get pregnant?" I thought about telling her it was about 36 weeks ago on a romantic night, but I bit my tongue instead. Another parent stared at me incredulously and told me that my cork (belly button) was sticking out already. At that, I had to laugh. I guess being pregnant at a daycare has its funny moments. This is my last week working there. My bosses are starting to worry about me lifting and bending over and stuff like that, so I will just get to relax for the last 20 days until the big day. Woohoo!
