Welcome!

To all my family and friends, I'm trying my hand at blog publishing. I'm doing this so that other people can keep know what is going on in my life, I have been busy not e-mailing people.
I'm still in Provo, I'll be here over the summer working and playing, no classes for me. I live just south of campus and live with some good friends. I changed my major from Physics to Marriage, Family and Human development with plans to go into Social Work to become a child therapist. I am already working early morning custodial 4:30-8:00am and am just about to apply for a BYU grounds job in the afternoons. I just attended the graduation party for Paul Ziel before he moved back up to Idaho. And I run into Greg Reeve and his wife Adrianna who are still here in Provo. I run into many old friends; mission buddies, California friends and Rhode Island friends every now and then.
To keep my self busy for the summer, in between work I plan to date and read books. I bought "The Once and Future King" by T.H. White, a book that tells the story of the Arthurian Legend, "The Maltese Falcon" by Dashiell Hammett, a Mystery that the movie was based on, and "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolsty because it is supposed to be good.

Other books I plan on reading if time permits are:
"Don Quixote" by Cervantes
"Old Man and the Sea" by Hemmingway
"King Solomon's Mines" by H. Ridder Higgins
"Flatland" by Edwin Abbot
"Walden" by Thoreau
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintinence" by Robert Prissig
"Gilgamesh" by the Babylonians
and many others...

I will try to update the blog at least weekly, we'll see, feel free to stop by and drop me a line or leave a comment.

Hi Will, this is Dave, your younger brother. I spend my time doing productive and healthy activities such as: eating excessively, poring over video games that wont be released for at least six months, and last but not least, procrastinating important life decisions about my future.

Yeah for blogging! I'm excited to hear from you :0, Glad things are going well for you! Guess I'll see you for Ruth's wedding.

Enjoy the books. Flatland was really neat, if you're into math/random musings about life. Haha. Have fun in Provo! Don't work too hard!

Will,
I'm impressed that you've read 1776. I think this should be required reading by all American Citizens, and illegal immigrants as well!!
Some other books I'd recommend you read--(though they don't have to all be done this summer): The Da Vinci Code but definitely read before you go see Bro. Hanks version!
By Orson Scott Card both Sarah,& Rachel are great Old Testament stories with wonderful background information. Ghost Soldiers (True story of rescue of POWS in Japanese prisoner camp in Philippines end of WWII). A great series is The Kingdom and the Crown, Vol. 1: Fishers of Men as well as II and III by Gerald Lund. They were wonderful.

Will, you'll like Walden and the Epic of Gilgamesh. At least I did. I don't know if you've read old man and the sea before, but if you haven't, its another good one, and pleasantly short. I hope you're having fun at your job!
