So these are some random pictures of some of the other things we did while in Utah. It was such a fun vacation and we took lots of pictures. We went ice blocking on the hill behind the Provo temple.
Everyone got their ice primed by rubbing it on the grass for a minute so it would slide down the hill easier. I forgot all about that trick until I saw my siblings doing it.
Going down the steep hill. It was a perfect hill for ice blocking. Thanks Michael for the idea of the good location. Of course, having to carry the ice back up the hill was quite a workout, but that was okay.
We made a train from oldest to youngest. It is hard to tell who is who, but I am second to the front after my brother. Our train did pretty good going down the hill. Everyone stayed connected right until the very end. So I would call it a success.
Will told me that he had never been ice blocking before. So he got a chance to try it out for the first time. He got pretty good at going down the hill too.
Whitney did not like ice blocking. I don't know if she was afraid that she would go too fast and fall off or if sitting on a towel on the iceblock felt funny or what the problem was, but she just cried and cried. Whitney didn't even like watching the rest of us go down the hill, so we took turns occupying her with other things. Sorry Whitney, maybe we will try again in a couple of years.
While in Utah, we visited Will's grandpa. He lives right outside of American Fork in an assisted living facility. We chatted with him for a couple of hours until the girls got antsy. I was happy that Whitney took to him pretty well because she is usually really shy.
We had some downtime at my aunt and uncle's house in Lehi. We played lots of games and had fun just goofing off. Here Rachel has a staredown with their family dog. I cannot remember who won.
The reunions were fun. There was a pretty good turnout. It was fun talking to some cousins that I haven't seen in years and just catching up with people. Everyone was really friendly and we had a good time.
Rachel wasn't even the youngest baby there. One of my cousins had a baby (as seen in picture) just seven weeks ago. They flew in all the way from Maryland to be part of the reunion, so it was neat to see them.
And a cute story about Whitney from the reunion. We were waiting for some people to arrive before starting dinner and Whitney was having a hard time waiting. She really wanted to open a box of vanilla wafer cookies and start eating some right away. My excuse was we couldn't open and eat the cookies because we hadn't said prayer. Then I walked away to do something else. When I came back like a minute later she was hard at work trying to open the box. I reminded her that we still had to say prayer and she told me that she had said prayer already. My mom confirmed that she had heard Whitney praying. So I was so touched that I let Whitney have a cookie before the reunion officially started (shh...don't tell anyone).
Anyway, that was our fun Utah trip. We had a blast spending the week with everyone.
